Hi there! My name is Jules, I am a Maui based fine artist specializing in acrylic and oil paintings. A bit about my artistic journey, I graduated from doodles and coloring books and began taking oil painting classes when I was about 10. I have had a passion for the arts ever since. Trained in many art mediums and styles, I gravitate toward acrylic and oil paints to achieve bright and colorful scenes that invoke feelings of love and joy. Living in the Hawaiian Islands, I am constantly inspired by the natural beauty, lush greens, turquoise waters and rugged landscapes. You will find my original work is often inspired by natural beauty, environmental preservation, and the ocean and its creatures.
Live event painting is a passion that combines my love for landscape and figure painting and the thrill of quick decision making and a live audience! My goal is to create art out of love, and to provide my clients with keepsakes to last a lifetime.

My Mission
I love using color and bold brush strokes to achieve a whimsical realism in my work. My style is considered impressionistic or expressionistic, capturing emotion and movement.
I am constantly focussing on my development as an artist, from daily practice to investing in classes to further my education. My skills are always growing and evolving which makes this career so fun and exciting. Each painting I produce is driven with my passion for the craft and my love of expression and creativity.

My painting style
If you've made it this far, I'm flattered! Let me tell you a bit more about me and how I got to where I am today. I was born and raised in Novato, California and went on to study Environmental Science at UC Santa Barbara. My love for the natural world and it's preservation runs deep, and that is the path that brought me to Maui in 2014.
Though art and painting has always been a hobby that I nurtured, my career started out as a Marine Naturalist, educating folks about Maui's ecosystems aboard ocean-going vessels! I started my art business during this time and even painted my first wedding... but then I fell in love with someone with a real zest for adventure like me! It didnt take long before we took a grand leap of faith and moved to French Polynesia, where we lived on and sailed a 38 foot catamaran around the Islands of Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora and more... a real dream come true! To say that I was CONSTANTLY inspired to paint and create during this time would be an understatement!
Now that we are home again in Maui, with our feet firmly planted on land, life can resume, and so can painting! When I am not Live Painting, or working in my studio, you will likely find me spending time with friends and family, hiking, surfing, in the ocean, or playing live music (I sing at weddings too!).
