Discover the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua Pop-Up Art Gallery Featuring Maui’s 2026 Artists in Residence

If you’re looking for an inspiring Maui art gallery to visit during your stay on the island, I invite you to experience the new Pop-Up Gallery at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. This special exhibition brings together the work of the resort’s 2026 Artists in Residence, celebrating the incredible talent and diverse artistic voices found here on Maui.

I am deeply honored to be exhibiting alongside three extraordinary local artists: fine artist Laurie Robbins Miller, photographer Emily McCulliss, and relief print artist Alexis Kageyama. Together, our work creates a gallery experience that highlights the many ways Maui inspires creativity. From sweeping landscapes and native wildlife to expressive florals and vibrant island color.

The exhibition will remain on display through the end of December 2026, with the exciting possibility of continuing into the new year.

A Celebration of Maui Artists

One of the things I love most about this exhibition is the variety of artistic styles represented. Although we each draw inspiration from the same island, our work reflects completely different perspectives and mediums.

Laurie Robbins Miller is known for her masterful oil and pastel paintings that beautifully capture Maui’s landscapes with warmth, light, and atmosphere.

Emily McCullis showcases breathtaking photography featuring Maui’s coastlines, ocean scenes, wildlife, and moments of quiet natural beauty.

Alexis Kageyama creates intricate hand-carved relief prints inspired by Hawaiʻi’s native flora and fauna. Each print celebrates the unique plants and animals that make these islands so special.

My own collection features some of my boldest and most expressive paintings to date! I explore color, movement, and the joy found in Hawaiʻi’s abundant beauty.

Together, the exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to experience Maui through four very different artistic lenses.

My New Expressive Floral Collection

One of the most exciting parts of this exhibition is the debut of a collection I have been dreaming about for quite some time.

My new expressive floral paintings have lived in my imagination—and in my heart—for years. Seeing them finally hanging together in the gallery has been incredibly rewarding.

Each bouquet celebrates the fleeting beauty of flowers in full bloom. Their vibrant colors and energetic brushstrokes are meant to capture more than just their appearance. They seek to preserve the feeling of standing before something beautifully alive, even if only for a moment.

Flowers remind us that beauty is temporary. They encourage us to slow down, be present, and appreciate life’s fleeting moments.

In many ways, these paintings are an invitation to pause, breathe deeply, and quite literally “stop and smell the flowers.”

More Than Flowers

Alongside my newest floral collection, visitors will also find several pieces that represent different chapters of my artistic journey.

My painting Girl with the Hibiscus Flower continues my exploration of expressive portraiture inspired by Hawaiʻi.

My Abundance Mini–Series of fruit celebrates the rich colors and simple beauty of tropical fruit grown throughout the islands.

The exhibition also features Spirit of Aloha, the collaborative surfboard I created during my Artist Residency at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. This interactive community artwork became one of the highlights of my residency! Inviting guests to contribute to a painting that celebrates Hawaiʻi’s culture, community, and spirit of aloha.

Meet the Artists During Studio Hours

One of the my favorite aspects of this pop-up gallery is the opportunity to meet the artists themselves.

Throughout the exhibition, each Artist in Residence will spend studio time in the gallery. This gives visitors the chance to ask questions, learn about our creative processes, and even watch artwork being created in real time.

As an artist, some of my favorite conversations happen while someone is standing in front of a painting. Those moments often lead to stories, memories, and meaningful connections that simply can’t happen through a website alone.
